ENKOMI/Luigi Palma di CESNOLA
Installation at the Cedars Union, Dallas, TX, October 2021.
FABRICATED ARTIFACTS BASED ON THE ancient burial sites of cyprus.
Rigdon was drawn to the artifacts from the Enkomi site while visiting the British Museum during the Summer of 2021. These funerary objects relate to her childhood on the island of Cyprus and the traditional Cypriot potters she and her mother had trained with. Rigdon has transformed these artifacts into modern objects using vibrant oil paint on custom-cut acrylic sheets.
